What is a Child Theme? It’s only a similar theme that you are using, with the same files structure than main theme which will you add those files that you want to change to avoid having to change the code for the main template.
It has many advantages, for example, if you have installed a premium theme (normaly that has a Child Theme included) the updates are frequent. If you have changed the CSS code in this, or functions.php file how we do in that post, next time tha you update it, the modification will lost.

Create a Child Theme is easy, are only a few steps, copy and paste code and some files in our server, but if you have a plugin like “Child Theme Configurator” in official WordPress repository, you haven’t to get involved.

Install the plugin, activate it and the plugin window shows all our themes installed in WordPress. Select the files from main theme to duplicate how child theme and it’s ready. In a few seconds we have created and working perfectly. You will be able to make all the changes that you like.
